An entry level 10 week class to teach you and your dog basic canine commands and manners. In this class we will cover loose lead walking, stays, recall and basics like sit and down. At the end of this course there is a small assessment which will need to be passed before moving into any of the other classes we provide, this is to ensure there is a certain level of control so you dont cause havoc in the other classes.  If you would like to express interest in this class please email our course coordinator Sandra at napierdtc@gmail.com and she will be able to inform you of any upcoming classes

Nosework
Sunday 10:00 am

Nose work takes one of your dogs most amazing skills and develops it in a team with you as handler, it can be done by any dog as they all have amazing noses and is a wonderful way to increase the bond between you and your hound.
Nose work as a competitive canine activity is fairly new but making great strides to establish itself in New Zealand. Napier Dog Training Club follows the Scent Sports Association of New Zealand approach and will run trials under their rules.

If you are interested in competing in either agility, obedience or scent we will support you in your journey. For both, you will need to be a member of DogsNZ -please see their website. For agility you will also need to register with DogsAgility and get your dog measured by an official DogsNZ measurer. Talk to your instructor and they will help you find someone .
